When looking on the internet for a decent hotel, there are a few very important factors that you must take into consideration to make sure that you get a great deal. Obviously you don’t want to be ripped off, especially if you are going somewhere you’ve never been to before.
If you want a great hotel, that’s reasonably priced and comfortable, then don’t do any of the following 3 things
1. Stay at unknown hotels: Try and only stay at hotels that are well known. This means trying to stick to hotels like the Hilton, Four Seasons, Marriott, etc. These may sound like dull brand name hotels, but if you are going to a foreign place, you can at least you can be assured they are well kept and you will be well looked after also.
2. Don’t do any background checks on the hotel: Check out a hotel review site to see if where you are staying is recommended by others. Obviously if you see a ton of bad reviews it’s probably not going to be a good hotel. However if you only see one or two bad reviews, then you can usually treat them as isolated cases and the hotel is most likely good.
3. Book a hotel far from any amenities: Many people are lured into booking a room in a hotel because of cheap prices or random extras. This is all very well and good. But make sure to check it’s location before you book. Some hotels can offer such cheap prices because the are located far from where things are happening. Be cautious. Make sure to check out the location of the hotel before booking.
